Canada To Face Brazil, Cameroon and Japan

The draw for the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup was held at 4:00 a.m. EST time on Cheju Island in Korea, Wednesday with Canada drawing Brazil, Japan, and Cameroon in Group B. The Canadians will play all their games in Japan.

Group A will be located in Korea and will consist of France, Mexico, Australia and Korea.

Canada’s first game will be on May 31 against the co-hosts Japan in Niigata while Brazil faces Cameroon in Ibaraki. Canada travels to Ibaraki and will play Brazil there on June 2. Canada’s final round robin game will be back in Niigata against Cameroon on June 4.

The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals. One final is in Yokohama, Japan with the other in Suwon, Korea. The final is in Yokohama.
