Canada to close 2013 against Slovenia

Canada’s Men’s National Team is getting another match against top-quality opponent as Canada Soccer confirmed that the team will play against Slovenia in Celje, SVN on 19 November (location and kickoff to be confirmed).

The game will conclude another busy camp under Head Coach Benito Floro. As was announced previously, the team will play a friendly against the Czech Republic on 15 November in Olomouc, CZE.

The Slovenia game will conclude the third camp since Floro officially took over as coach in August. Last month, Canada lost 3:0 at Craven Cottage in London, ENG to an Australian team that has already qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ in Brazil.

The Slovenians missed out on reaching Brazil after finishing third in UEFA qualifying Group E. They finished nine points back of group winners Switzerland and two back of second-placed Iceland.

At the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Slovenia finished third in Group C behind group winners USA and England.
