Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team defeated Brazil 2:1 at Vila Belmiro Stadium in their first November international window series match against Brazil. Goals from Shelina Zardorsky and Adriana Leon were enough to deliver the win for Canada while goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan’s performance prevented Brazil from equalising, conceding one goal from Brazil’s eight shots on target. Amanda Allen subbed in the 71st minute making this her first international “A” appearance.
“It was an exciting game to watch, we created some great chances”, said Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team Head Coach Bev Priestman. “We got two set-play goals which is something we knew we had to work on post-Olympics. There are some things from today we must work on going into the next match, but overall we’re really happy to get our fifth straight win.”
