Canada Soccer’S TELUS She CAN Coach Launches Year 4

TELUS She CAN Coach

Continuing Pathways for Women in Coaching

Following three years of growth, Canada Soccer’s TELUS She CAN Coach program is entering its fourth year, expanding into Québec, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, while continuing its work with returning partners in Saskatchewan and Newfoundland & Labrador.

TELUS She CAN Coach is Canada Soccer’s flagship national coach recruitment and development initiative, designed to address barriers women face when entering and accessing coach education. Through a club-based approach, the program provides women with access to coach education, development opportunities and supportive networks within the game.

With the addition of Québec, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island in Year 4, TELUS She CAN Coach has now expanded its reach to all 10 Canadian provinces since its launch in 2023, having supported 1,000 women coaches and 100 community clubs across seven provinces.

Expanding Access in Year 4

For Year 4, Soccer Québec, Soccer New Brunswick and PEI Soccer Association will join the program as new Provincial Member Association partners, alongside returning partners Saskatchewan Soccer Association and Newfoundland & Labrador Soccer Association.

The program combines access to Canada Soccer Grassroots Coach Education with virtual learning and club-based engagement, giving participants the tools and support to develop their coaching knowledge and experience while connecting with other women coaches in their communities.

“Soccer Québec is committed to making a meaningful contribution to the development of women’s soccer. We are therefore proud to support clubs through the TELUS She Can Coach program, an initiative that will provide clubs across Quebec with practical resources and tools to encourage the participation, development, and advancement of women coaches throughout the province.”

As Year 4 gets underway, Canada Soccer looks forward to building on the program’s momentum and continuing to strengthen pathways for women to enter, develop and progress in coaching.

Continuing to Close the Gap
