Canada Soccer Welcomes Actors Dan Levy and Shay Mitchell and Decorated Olympians Andre De Grasse and Summer McIntosh To Iconic XI Roster

As the FIFA World Cup 26™ draws near, Canada Soccer, in partnership with Infinity &, is adding four extraordinary Canadians to the Iconic XI World Cup ambassador program lineup: record-breaking Olympic Gold Medalist Andre De Grasse, Emmy® award-winning creator, writer, director and producer Dan Levy, actress and entrepreneur Shay Mitchell, and Olympic Gold Medalist, world champion and record holder Summer McIntosh.

Iconic XI is an amplification platform, anchored by an all-star roster of remarkable Canadians working to unite the country behind Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team – celebrating player stories, building excitement, and supporting youth soccer initiatives through the Canada Soccer Foundation.

The curated group of 11 of Canada’s most influential figures in entertainment, sport, fashion, music, media, and the arts include previously announced ambassadors Alanis Morissette, Shawn Mendes, Sidney Crosby, and Simu Liu. The three remaining Iconic XI members will be announced in the coming weeks.

About the new Iconic XI members:

  • Andre De Grasse is the most decorated Olympian in Canadian history with seven Olympic medals. The Scarborough born and Markham raised sprinter won three medals in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay in his first Olympics in 2016. He did it again at the 2020 Tokyo Games where he captured his first gold in the 200m. At the Paris 2024 Olympics running on an injured leg, Andre anchored the men’s 4x100m relay to a stunning gold medal. Off the track, Andre is an accomplished author and philanthropist and a proud investor in women’s pro soccer team, AFC Toronto. In 2025, Andre was named to the Order of Canada in recognition of his breadth of accomplishments and commitment to invest in others.
  • Dan Levy is an Emmy-winning multi-hyphenate creator, actor, writer, producer, showrunner, and director best known for co-creating and starring in the Emmy- and Canadian Screen Award-winning cult favorite series Schitt's Creek. In 2022, he launched his production company, Not a Real Production Company, which has produced titles including The Big Brunch and Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery. Last month, Netflix released Levy’s new original family crime-comedy series, Big Mistakes, which he co-created, stars in, executive produces, and serves as showrunner. The series has already been renewed for Season 2.
  • Shay Mitchell is an actress, entrepreneur, and author best known for her breakout role as Emily Fields on the hit series Pretty Little Liars. She has since starred in acclaimed projects including You and Dollface, and will next appear in the upcoming season of Baywatch. Beyond entertainment, Mitchell has built an impressive entrepreneurial portfolio as the founder of four successful ventures: Amore & Vita Productions (producer of FOX’s The Cleaning Lady), travel and lifestyle brand BÉIS, Onda Tequila, and most recently, children’s skincare brand - Rini.

Inspired by Canada’s World Cup moment and her role as an Iconic XI ambassador, Mitchell’s travel lifestyle brand BÉIS is collaborating with Canada Soccer on a limited edition release to benefit Canada Soccer Foundation. Collaboration details will be announced in the coming weeks.

  • Summer McIntosh, age 19, is already widely regarded as one of the most successful swimmers in Canadian history and versatile swimmers in the world. The Toronto-native made her Olympic debut at 14 as the youngest member of Team Canada, and has been raising the bar for the sport ever since. A two-time World Aquatics Swimmer of the Year, she captured four Olympic medals at the Paris 2024 Games, becoming the first Canadian athlete to win three gold medals at a single Games, and set two Olympic records. She won five medals at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships, including four gold medals to become the first Canadian to capture four individual world titles at a single championship, and has already broken several World Records early in her career.
