Canada Soccer visits Surrey as part of 2026 preparations for the U-15 Cup

Canada Soccer has wrapped up an official site visit to Newton Athletic Park as part of the preparations for the 2026 National Championships U-15 Cup in Surrey, British Columbia. The visit included a meeting with Surrey FC, hosts to this year's U-15 Cup that will bring together 24 qualified youth teams from 6-12 October.

All 52 matches to the U-15 Cup (boys and girls) will be played at Newton Athletic Park, including the two Youth Canadian Finals that will be played back-to-back on Field 1 on the Thanksgiving Monday. Group matches are played Wednesday through Friday followed by knockout and playoff matches from Saturday through Monday. The four medal matches (along with select matches throughout the week) will be broadcast live on CanadaSoccerTV.

In the spirit of creating a memorable atmosphere for the competing teams as well as the Local Organising Committee, the volunteers, and the host community, all qualified teams will attend one of the two Youth Canadian Final matches on Monday 12 October.

As Canada’s most accessible sport, soccer welcomes more than 750,000 registered players across the nation. This year, more than 500 youth teams will take part in qualifying for the National Championships in the U-17 and U-15 age groups for both boys and girls. From that group, 12 youth teams will qualify in each of the four divisions, with the U-17 Cup hosted in St. John's and the U-15 Cup hosted in Surrey.

Each host welcomes the qualified teams to their community with a unique Opening Ceremony, friendly volunteers at each of the competition venues, transportation to and from the team hotels, and a Finals Day atmosphere whereby all teams are in attendance for the Canadian Finals.
