    "body": "<p>As Canada Soccer&rsquo;s Women&rsquo;s National Team is about to kick off the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Head Coach Bev Priestman will lead a group of technical support staff that are predominantly women with 13 of 19 members female. The large contingent of females on staff is the most of any previous Women&rsquo;s National Team staff in a major international competition.</p><p>One of the important legacies of the FIFA Women&rsquo;s World Cup<br>\u200bCanada 2015&trade; was Canada Soccer&rsquo;s Women Leading Women initiative, which was<br>\u200bintroduced to provide opportunities for Women&rsquo;s National Team players to<br>\u200bcontribute to the sport both on and off the pitch.&nbsp; Both 2012 Olympic Bronze medallist Robyn<br>\u200bGayle, Canada Soccer&rsquo;s, Excel Mental and Cultural Manager and two-time Olympic<br>\u200bBronze medallist Dr. Melissa Tancredi, a member of the Women&rsquo;s National Team<br>\u200bmedical staff were members of the Canada 2015 team.</p><p>&ldquo;We are proud to see that more and more women get<br>\u200bopportunities to stay involved in the game, even beyond their playing career,&rdquo;<br>\u200bsaid Peter Montopoli, Canada Soccer&rsquo;s General Secretary. &ldquo;One of the greater<br>\u200bgoals of the FIFA Women&rsquo;s World Cup Canada 2015&trade; was to make sure to provide<br>\u200bthe best possible opportunities for girls and women to succeed on and off the<br>\u200bpitch, and we are only starting to see the effect of this legacy.&rdquo;</p><p>Jasmine Mander, a former youth international and Canada<br>\u200bSoccer B Licence coach, was recently announced as the Women&rsquo;s National Team<br>\u200bPerformance Analyst in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.</p><p>In addition, Kristina Kiss, Canada Soccer&rsquo;s new Manager, Development &ndash; Programming, is a former member of the Women&rsquo;s National Team who served as an Assistant Coach during the pre-Olympic training camp in California.</p><div class=\"release-content-contact\" id=\"contact-af7e6969-b5f9-44cd-af45-f6ecb53cae9d\">\n    \n    <div class=\"release-content-contact__details\">\n        <strong class=\"release-content-contact__name\">Paulo Senra</strong>\n        <em class=\"release-content-contact__description\">Chief Communications &amp; Content Officer | Chef des communications et du contenu, Canada Soccer</em>\n        <ul class=\"release-content-contact__details-list\"><li class=\"release-content-contact__details-list-item\"><a href=\"mailto:psenra@canadasoccer.com\"  class=\"release-content-contact__details-list-item-link\" title=\"psenra@canadasoccer.com\"><svg class=\"icon icon-paper-plane release-content-contact__details-list-item-icon\">\n                <use xlink:href=\"#icon-paper-plane\"></use>\n            </svg>psenra@canadasoccer.com</a></li>\n<li class=\"release-content-contact__details-list-item\"><a href=\"tel:(416)&nbsp;882-7919\"  class=\"release-content-contact__details-list-item-link\" title=\"(416)&nbsp;882-7919\"><svg class=\"icon icon-mobile release-content-contact__details-list-item-icon\">\n                <use xlink:href=\"#icon-mobile\"></use>\n            </svg>(416)&nbsp;882-7919</a></li></ul>\n    </div>\n</div>",
