Canada Soccer’s
\u200bPara Soccer National Team ranked 12thin the world last year at the
\u200bIFCPF World Cup in Spain. Led by Head Coach Drew Ferguson, the program has a
\u200bstrong blend of established stars and emerging young talents in the program.
\u200bJust last year, the Para Soccer National Team played their milestone 100thinternational match.
“We have a strong
\u200bfoundation with some established stars as well as some exciting new players
\u200bcoming through the system,” said Drew Ferguson, Canada Soccer’s Para Soccer
\u200bNational Team Head Coach. “We are very positive looking forward as we continue
\u200bto build around players like Sam Charron, who was last year’s Best Player at
\u200bthe IFCPF World Cup, and Damien Wojtiw, the Golden Glove winner at the 2018
\u200bCopa América.”
Canada’s Para
\u200bSoccer National Team competes in several global competitions over a four-year cycle,
\u200bincluding the International Federation of CP Football’s biennial World
\u200bChampionships. The sport features seven-a-side football for players with
\u200bcerebral palsy or recovering from stroke or brain injuries.
