Canada Soccer and Canadian Olympic Committee Form Editorial Collaboration To Celebrate World Cup

New initiative to capture Canada’s World Cup journey and to bring Canadians closer to the sights, sounds, and impact of hosting international sporting events on home soil

Canada Soccer and the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) today announced a first-of-its-kind digital content collaboration designed to amplify the stories, emotion, and national significance surrounding Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team (CANMNT) and Canada’s role as a FIFA World Cup 2026™ host nation.

As part of the collaboration, the COC will engage four dedicated storytellers — writers, producers, and digital creators — throughout the tournament period to capture and share compelling stories from Canada Soccer House, fan gatherings, official CANMNT training sessions, and matches. The creators will bring Canadians closer to the people, moments, and emotions shaping this historic summer for sport in Canada.

Canada Soccer and the COC see the initiative as a significant innovation and an opportunity to explore how National Sport Organizations can work together to expand reach, grow audiences, and elevate storytelling around major sporting moments.

“We are proud to continue pushing boundaries and redefining what integrated sports storytelling can look like in our country. Hosting a World Cup is a transformational moment for our country, and this co-creation will help bring Canadians closer to the people, emotions, and cultural impact surrounding our Men’s National Team. We’re excited to facilitate unprecedented access to the COC and to have this serve as a pilot for future innovation in digital content across Canadian sport.”

-Paulo Senra, Chief Communications & Content Officer

The content produced will include written features, short-form video, and digital storytelling designed to reflect back to Canadians the transformative power of hosting a FIFA World Cup and the unifying impact of sport on communities across the country. Stories will be published across both organizations’ websites and digital channels.

“This is an exciting moment for sport in Canada, and we are thrilled to be able to share stories that will inspire Canadians. This example of collaboration across the sport system will help both organizations celebrate athletes and get young people active and engaged in sport through compelling and inspiring storytelling.”

-Jacqueline Ryan, Chief Brand & Commercial Officer of the Canadian Olympic Committee and CEO of the Canadian Olympic Foundation

By combining resources, creative talent, and digital platforms, the collaboration aims to create a more connected and impactful content ecosystem around Canadian sport — one that can serve as a blueprint for the future.
