With its journey at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011 underway, Canada’s Women’s National Team continues to receive incredible support from Canadian fans on the ground in Germany as well as from back home in Canada. After a hard fought battle against the defending World Champion Germans in its opening match, ultimately falling 1:2, Canada is gearing up for its next match on Thursday 30 June.

Canada’s Women’s National Team has always benefited from the support from its title sponsor Winners and this proved evident again in Germany. On Monday morning after the match against Germany, the team received a special visit from the Grand Prize winner of the “Winners Soccer Experience in Berlin Contest” hosted by Winners throughout May. The Grand Prize winner plus three guests had an exclusive meet and greet with the team that they spent encouraging and congratulating the team on its strong opening performance while the team showed its appreciation for the support by signing several items for the enthusiastic participants.

In addition, messages of support for the team have been coming in numbers via the dedicated support section En Route To Germany of the Canadian Soccer Association’s website. All the messages and pictures received through this portal will be collated into a memento piece that will be presented to the team in Germany.

Fans have taken to Twitter to support the Canadian team and Christine Sinclair in particular achieved Twitterverse stardom on Monday when tremendous support for her courageous effort to battle through a broken nose to score Canada’s lone goal of the opening match trended. All Twitter users are encouraged to use the #canWNT when commenting/encouraging Canada’s Women’s National Team. You can also follow us www.twitter.com/@CanadaSoccerEN.
