Canada remains perfect at the 2011 Cyprus Women’s Cup following a 1:0 victory over Italy on Friday 4 March. Canada has six points following two group matches, with just the Monday 7 March match against England remaining before the classification matches on 9 March. Canada needs a win or draw against England to win the group and advance to the championship final on 11 March.



Canada is in first place with six points, with 1:0 victories over Scotland and Italy. Scotland and England are tied on three points following Scotland’s 2:0 victory over England on Friday. Italy is in fourth place with no points after two matches.



The winner of Group A will face the winner of Group B in the Cyprus Women’s Cup final. So far in the opposite group, Netherlands remains perfect with six points following a 2:1 victory over France on Friday. France is tied with New Zealand (a 2:1 victory on Friday) at three points while Switzerland is in fourth place with no points.



Canada, whose title sponsor is Winners and presenting sponsor is Teck, is currently preparing for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011. Through Friday, Canada’s record is four wins and one loss in international competition in 2011. Canada’s next match is Monday 7 March against England.

1st/2nd place – Group A winner v Group B winner

3rd/4th place – Group A runner up v Group B runner up

5th/6th place – Group A third place v Group B third place

7th/8th place – Group A/B fourth place (higher rank) v Group C winner

9th/10th place – Group A/B fourth place (lower rank) v Group C runner up

11th/12th place – Group C third place v Group C fourth place
