Canada remains the ninth ranked team within CONCACAF after the 11 August 2010 edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. There was little movement in the ranking, with just two international matches played since the conclusion of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. Most movement was the result of older matches being devalued in the ranking.

The FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings looks at each country’s international results from the last four years. The ranking takes into account the result, the importance of the match, the strength of the opponent, the regional strength, the time period, and the number of matches per year. Matches played more than a year ago are valued 50% of matches played in the last year (matches played more than two years ago are valued at 30% while matches played more than three years ago are valued at 20%).

Within CONCACAF, USA, Mexico and Honduras remain the top-three nations. All three were in action at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. Rounding out North America’s top-10 nations are Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, El Salvador, Panama, Canada and Cuba.

Canada has two upcoming international matches at the beginning of September. Canada faces Peru on 4 September at BMO Field in Toronto and Honduras on 7 September at Stade Saputo in Montréal. Tickets to the Toronto match are available via Ticketmaster (416.872.5000 / www.ticketmaster.ca) while tickets to the Montréal match are available via Admission (1.800.361.4595 / ADMISSION.com).
