Canada’s women’s national team is the 13th ranked country on the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking. Canada remains the second-ranked country within CONCACAF, behind the world’s number-one ranked USA. Canada improved by three points, but were overtaken and fell from a tie for 11th place to 13th place in the global ranking.

\u200bThe FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Rankings looks at each country’s international results from the last four years. The ranking takes into account the result, the importance of the match, the strength of the opponent, the regional strength, the time period, and the number of matches per year.

\u200bSince the last ranking on 28 May, Canada played one international friendly match – a 1:1 draw against former FIFA Women’s World Cup and Olympic champion Norway.

\u200bThere was no movement in the ranking amongst the world’s top-9 countries. There was, however, movement amongst the teams ranked 10-16, with Denmark slipping into 10th place followed by Italy and Australia at 11th, and Canada at 13th. \u200bCanada, whose title sponsor is Winners and presenting sponsor is Teck, is currently preparing for the CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifiers. That qualification tournament, which runs 28 October to 8 November, will automatically qualify two teams for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011. A third team from CONCACAF could qualify if it defeats the fifth-place team from UEFA in a November playoff.
