Canada moved up one spot within the CONCACAF rankings while its points total move up from 412 to 415. Canada jumped ahead of Trinidad &amp; Tobago in the standings, who fell from 414 to 404 points in the October 2008 ranking.<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200bThe four CONCACAF teams ahead of Canada all had big jumps. The United States (861, up 73 points), Mexico (841, up 38 points), Honduras (601, up 99 points) and Costa Rica (476, up 38) all posted two victories in FIFA World Cup\u0099 Qualifiers in September. Of note, the United States slipped ahead of Mexico within the CONCACAF rankings. The United States (21) and Mexico (24) are both ranked amongst the top-25 nations in the world rankings.<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200bThe FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings looks at each country&rsquo;s international results from the last four years. The ranking takes into account the result, the importance of the match, the strength of the opponent, the regional strength, the time period, and the number of matches per year.<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200bIn September, Canada lost both of its 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa\u0099 Qualifiers, a 1:2 loss to Honduras on 6 September and a 1:2 loss to Mexico on 10 September. As a result, Canada is in third place in Group 2 of CONCACAF Stage III. Canada&rsquo;s next two matches are 11 October against Honduras (San Pedro Sula, Honduras) and 15 October against Mexico (Edmonton, AB).
