Canada MNT to host Jamaica 9 September – tickets on sale Friday

Canada Men’s National Team will host Jamaica on 9 September at BMO Field, Toronto, ON, in its first home International Friendly under Head Coach Benito Floro. Tickets for the match, presented by BMO, go on sale to the public this Friday, 4 July at 10.00 ET (7.00 PT).

“Canada Soccer is looking forward to introducing our Men’s National Team Head Coach Benito Floro to the Canadian fans for this match against a fierce CONCACAF opponent in Jamaica,” said Victor Montagliani, Canada Soccer President. “We know our Canadian soccer community will welcome him and proudly show that we can be a leading soccer nation, on and off the pitch.”

Fans will be able to purchase tickets online at ticketmaster.ca, by phone at 1-855-985-5000 or in person at all Ticketmaster outlets.

Tickets are available for as low as $20 (plus applicable fees), and group discounts are available at a reduced rate of up to 30% off regular price (based on volume). To secure group tickets, group organizers will need to complete the Canada MNT v Jamaica Group Order Form online ( will open at the same time as individual ticket on-sale).

The Canadians have a record of 7W-6D-3L against Jamaica, who is currently ranked 9th in CONCACAF. The two teams’ last met in a friendly in 2010.

Moreover, Canada MNT has enjoyed a successful streak at home at BMO Field in 2012, remaining unbeaten in four matchups (three FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and one International Friendly).

Since Head Coach Benito Floro’s appointment in the summer of 2013, he’s taken the time to assess the players in the system and give young talent an opportunity to show that they merit inclusion in the squad in the coming years. September’s match mark the start of a new phase of the team’s development, which will culminate with the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the start of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ Russia.
