    "body": "<p>Canada made another big jump on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. Canada moved up one spot within its confederation, but jumped 127 points and 13 places on the world ranking thanks to the devaluation of its older ranking points. Canada now has 631 points on the ranking table and ranks fifth within CONCACAF and 53rd in the world.<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200bThe FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings looks at each country&rsquo;s international results from the last four years. The ranking takes into account the result, the importance of the match, the strength of the opponent, the regional strength, the time period, and the number of matches per year.<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200bCanada made its big jump in July after reaching the quarter-final stage of the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Canada finished first in its group with two wins and one draw, but then lost 0:1 to Honduras in the quarter-final stage. Canada made the fourth-biggest jump in October with only Latvia (128), Cameroon (130) and Portugal (160) climbing faster.<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200bWithin CONCACAF, USA remains in first place while CONCACAF Gold Cup champion Mexico remains in second place. USA remains the 11th-ranked team on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. Rounding out the CONCACAF top-six is Honduras, Costa Rica, Canada and Jamaica. This past month, USA, Mexico and Honduras all qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup\u0099 from the final CONCACAF stage of six teams. Mexico and Honduras had both previously emerged from the semi-final Group of Death in which Canada and Jamaica were both eliminated in 2008.
