Canada in El Salvador for next step on Road to Russia

‎Canada’s second test is the Tuesday 17 November away match against El Salvador at Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador. ‎The match kicks off at 19.30 local and will be available in Canada on BeIN Sports (20.30 ET / 17.30 PT). Canada Soccer is committed to ensuring that all matches are available to Canadian soccer fans through collaborative efforts with the host federation. For tomorrow’s El Salvador match, broadcast rights for Canada were awarded to BeIN Sports by the rights holder, the El Salvador Football Federation.

​‎After Friday’s home win in Vancouver, Canada traveled Sunday to San Salvador, in all a 10-hour trip from hotel to hotel. See the team’s journey here. The team then trained Monday morning at Estadio Cuscatlan.

From 12 remaining CONCACAF nations in 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Qualifiers, Canada are in Group A with Mexico (3 points / +3), Honduras (0, -1), and El Salvador (0, -3). On Tuesday, Honduras hosts Mexico with a 15.00 local kick off in San Pedro Sula.

The 12 nations, divided into three groups, all play six matches in this semi-final round, with the next two matches in March 2016 and the last two matches in September 2016. The two top teams from each group advance to the hexagonal CONCACAF final round, otherwise known as the “Hex”.
