​Canada’s women’s national team will advance to the bronze medal game at the XV Pan American Games Rio 2007 on Thursday 26 July. The Canucks lost their semi-final match 1:2 to the United States tonight in Brasil.

​American captain Lauren Cheney scored both goals, the opener in the 17th minute and the winner in the 77th minute. Canada’s Kara Lang scored for Canada in the 88th minute.

​Canada will now face Mexico in the bronze medal match at 9.00 on 26 July. Mexico lost 0:2 to hosts Brasil today in the other semifinal match. Brasil will face the United States in the gold-medal match.
