Friday’s Canada-England match-up at the 2010 Cyprus Women’s Cup had to be postponed due to unsafe playing conditions at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia. The pitch was covered in pools of water after a fierce storm ripped through the area bringing with it over 24 hours of steady rain. The match has been re-scheduled for Saturday 27 February at 14.00 local (07.00 ET / 04.00 PT) at the Alpha Sports Complex in Larnaka.

For Canada, the match presents an opportunity to gain a measure of revenge for its loss to England in the 2009 Cyprus Women’s Cup final. Canada won the 2008 Cyprus Women’s Cup on its inaugural visit to the competition.

The day’s other Group 2 match was completed earlier in the day as Switzerland defeated South Africa 3:1.
