Canada eliminated from 2024 Concacaf Futsal Championship following quarterfinal loss

Canada were defeated 2:3 by Costa Rica

Canada were eliminated in the quarterfinals at this year’s Concacaf Futsal Championship following a 2:3 loss to Costa Rica, the three-time reigning champions of the competition. Raheem Rose and Montacer El Harchali scored the goals for Canada in the Wednesday night knockout match at Polideportivo Alexis Argüello in Managua, Nicaragua.

Canada finished the tournament with one win, one draw and two losses after finishing in third place in Group B and qualifying for the knockout stages as one of the best third place teams. Canada scored 16 goals and conceded 18 goals across the four matches. Canada’s Loïc Kwemi finished as the second-top goalscorer from the group stages, with six goals.

Having been eliminated in the quarterfinals, Canada failed to qualify for the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
