Ottawa, Ontario – Canada’s Women’s World Cup Team today drew Australia 0-0 in Portiers, France during their first match of the France International Tournament. Canada dominated possession and out-chanced Australia in scoring opportunities in front of more than 4,000 supporters in the Stade de la Pépinière.

Carmelina Moscato, called up from the Under-19 team, earned her first international cap with the Women’s World Cup team when she replaced Cindy Tye in the 71st minute. Erin McLeod, also with the Under-19 Team, earned her second career shut-out.

“The execution of our scoring chances were not great,” said Canadian head coach Even Pellerud. “I expect this will improve, along with our skills, with the more games we play.”

Canada’s next game is against France on Saturday, April 6 at 18:15 local time, followed by a game against Japan on Tuesday, April 9 at 17:00 local time.
