Sinclair is currently Canada’s third top goal scorer behind Charmaine Hooper with 56 goals and Silvana Burtini with 38 goals.

Christine Latham increased Canada’s lead to two in the 74th minute before a Mexico own goal minutes later in the 80th minute. Higher midfield intensity and better execution in the second half allowed us to create a number of opportunities.”

Karina LeBlanc earned her 10th international shutout for Canada. Canada is undefeated in three games with a goal total of 12-0.

“It’s satisfying that we now have three games in a row without conceding a goal. With a total of 10-3 in goal chances, we certainly deserved the win. That said, the win was too big and we need a new focus on Sunday to get a good result. That game will be played without three Pro (WUSA) players as they have to report back to their clubs,” concluded Pellerud.

Canada will play Mexico again on Sunday, June 14th.

June 13, 2003 – International Friendly

Guasave, Mexico

Canada t4 (0)

Mexicot0 (0)

Cautions: Canada – Melanie Booth (18); Brittany Timko (36); Andrea Neil (66); Candace Chapman (75)

Goals: 12-Christine Sinclair (58); 2-Christine Latham (74); O.G.
