Association elects new officers

The Canadian Soccer Association elected new officers this morning at the Association’s annual general meeting in Banff, AB. Victor Montagliani (vice president) and Mike Traficante (director at large) were re-elected to the Association’s executive committee while Steve Reed (treasurer) and John Knox (director at large) were newly elected.
Mr. Montagliani and Mr. Traficante have been members of the executive committee since 2005. Mr. Reed and Mr. Knox, meanwhile, both join the executive committee after previously serving on the Association’s board of directors.
Mr. Reed joins the executive committee in the position of treasurer. He most recently served as the president of the British Columbia Soccer Association, holding that position from 2006 to 2009.
Mr. Knox joins the executive committee in the position of director at large. He most recently served as president of the Ontario Soccer Association, holding that position from 2006 to 2009.
Leaving the Association’s executive committee are Mr. Vincent Ursini and Mr. Angus Barrett. Mr. Ursini served as the Association’s treasurer from 2005-2009. Mr. Barrett, meanwhile, joined the Association’s board of directors in 1995 and served on the executive committee from 2000 to present.
The Canadian Soccer Association’s new executive committee consists of Dr. Dominic Maestracci as president, Mr. Montagliani and Mr. Rob Newman as vice presidents, Mr. Reed as treasurer, and Mr. Francis Millien, Mr. Traficante and Mr. Knox as directors at large.
With the election of new executive officers, the Association also named chairs to several committees. Mr. Reed was named Chair of the Finance Committee, Mr. Knox was named Chair of the Competitions Committee, Mr. Montagliani was named Chair of the National Teams Committee, Mr. Millien was named Chair of the Technical Committee, and Mr. Traficante was named Vice-Chair of the Technical Committee.
