AS Blainville won the inaugural League1 Canada Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship on Sunday following a 3:0 win over provincial rivals AS Laval. Mégane Sauvé opened the scoring in the 30th minute before Lori Thibault and Audrey-Ann Cardinal scored two quick goals in the 54th and 55th minutes to secure the 2022 title. Goalkeeper Andréanne Dubeau and her backline posted the clean sheet.

The four-team championship featured AS Blainville and AS Laval from the Québec Premier League (Première ligue de soccer du Québec), Markham’s Alliance United FC from League1 Ontario, and Vancouver’s Varsity FC from League1 BC. Alliance United FC finished in third place after winning 4-2 on kicks following a 2:2 draw with Varsity FC.

In the Sunday Final, coach Robert Rositoiu started Andréanne Dubeau in goal, Maude Poulin at right back, Marie-Eve Bernard and Nathalie Brunelle at centre back, Claudia Asselin at left back, Emma-Eve Lecompte, Lorie Thibault and Alexandra Brunelle at midfield, and Alexie Bellerose, Valérie Sanderson and Mégane Sauvé up front. Isabelle Chikarians and Audrey-Ann Cardinal featured as substitutes while Catherine Langelier, Maude Leclerc, Maude Lagace, S. Chenail, Mathilde Fournier, Joëlle Gosselin, and S. Breaut dressed but did not feature.

In the Friday Semi-Finals, AS Blainville won 2:0 over Varsity FC while AS Laval won 6-5 on kicks after a 1:1 draw with Alliance United FC. All four weekend matches were played in Laval at the Complexe sportif Bois-de-Boulogne, home of the Québec Soccer Federation.
