Alphonso Davies won his fifth-straight Bundesliga title on Saturday 27 May 2023 as FC Bayern München captured their record 11-straight championship in Germany since 2012-13. Davies from Edmonton, Alberta has been part of each of FC Bayern’s five titles since 2018-19, the season he joined the club as a teenager from Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

FC Bayern captured the title on the last day of the 2022-23 season after Jamal Musiala scored an 89th minute match winner to overtake Dortmund in the league table. Both sides finished the season on 71 points after FC Bayern won 2:1 over FC Köln and Dortmund drew 2:2 with Mainz. FC Bayern won the title with a better goals record.

While he missed the last five matches through injury, Davies still made 26 appearances and featured in more than 2,000 Bundesliga minutes for the second time in his career. Along with the league title, he also helped FC Bayern reach the Quarter-Finals of 2022-23 UEFA Champions League and the Quarter-Finals of DFB-Pokal (the German Cup).

Davies is a four-time Canada Soccer Player of the Year since 2018. Since joining FC Bayern, he has won the Bundesliga (five times), the DFB-Pokal (twice), the DFL-SuperCup (three times), the UEFA Champions League title (2019-20), the UEFA Super Cup (2020), and the FIFA Club World Cup (2020).
