Canada will then close out the window against the United States in Minnesota on Wednesday 6 October. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">As the team reunites following a historic summer, here are five storylines to follow throughout the window. </p><h4 id=\"1-the-homecoming\" style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>1. The Homecoming</strong> </h4><p style=\"text-align: left\">For the first time since FIFA World Cup 2026&trade;, CANMNT will return to action on home soil. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Canada will host Chile in Toronto on 26 September before facing Peru in Montr&eacute;al seven days later. The two matches will be the team&rsquo;s first games in Canada since its World Cup campaign, giving Canadian supporters the chance to see the squad in person and celebrate this historic group together. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">The September and October fixtures will provide an early opportunity to see the squad back on the pitch, competing against two South American opponents as the journey continues </p><h4 id=\"2-a-new-chapter-begins\" ><strong>2. A New Chapter Begins</strong> </h4><p style=\"text-align: left\">The September-October FIFA International Window marks the start of CANMNT&rsquo;s next phase following FIFA World Cup 2026&trade;. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Canada will use the three-match window to prepare for its upcoming Concacaf Nations League A Quarterfinals in November. As one of the top-ranked teams in the competition, Canada advances directly into the quarterfinals, making those matches the team&rsquo;s next competitive fixtures. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">The September-October window will see Canada face a mix of CONMEBOL and Concacaf opposition, with matches against Chile, Peru and the United States providing valuable opportunities to test the squad against top international competition. </p><h4 id=\"3-new-faces-familiar-names\" ><strong>3. New Faces, Familiar Names</strong> </h4><p style=\"text-align: left\">The 26-player squad features a mix of players who were part of Canada&rsquo;s FIFA World Cup run and players looking to establish themselves within the group. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Among the familiar names are Jonathan David, Stephen Eust&aacute;quio, Tajon Buchanan, Tani Oluwaseyi and Richie Laryea, while players such as Jeevan Badwal, and Richard Chukwu, Jovan Ivanisevic will have an opportunity to continue their development with the senior team. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">The window will also provide an opportunity for new and emerging Canadian talent to make their mark, gain valuable experience with the squad, and continue building depth across the team. </p><h4 id=\"4-celebrating-two-canmnt-veterans\" ><strong>4. Celebrating Two CANMNT Veterans</strong> </h4><p style=\"text-align: left\">The Homecoming matches will also be an opportunity to recognize two players who have made a lasting contribution to the Men&#039;s National Team program. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">In Toronto, Brampton native Junior Hoilett will be celebrated by Canadian supporters. Hoilett has represented Canada 69 times since making his debut in 2015, delivering iconic goals, clutch tournament performances, and steady leadership through the program&rsquo;s transformation on the international stage. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">In Montr&eacute;al, Samuel Piette will receive similar celebratory recognition. The CF Montr&eacute;al captain has earned 69 caps for Canada since making his debut at 17 years old in 2012, representing the national team across multiple international windows and competitions. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">After more than a decade of representing Canada, both players will have a special moment in front of supporters in their home regions, with soccer fans nationwide joining in to honour their milestone contributions to Canada Soccer. </p><h4 id=\"5-a-rivalry-to-close-out-the-window\" ><strong>5. A Rivalry to Close Out the Window</strong> </h4><p style=\"text-align: left\">After two matches on home soil, CANMNT will close out the window against the United States on Wednesday 6 October at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">The match will be the 43rd meeting between the two nations, with Canada having won the last two encounters.
