\u200bto announce that hosting applications are now being accepted for the 2021 Circle
\u200bK Active Start Soccer Fests program which will be the 25thanniversary of the country’s largest and longest running grassroots soccer
\u200bprogram. With the majority of the 2020 season not possible due to the ongoing
\u200bpandemic and ensuring the priority of the safety of staff, volunteers, players and
\u200bparents in mind, Canada Soccer is looking forward to supporting the Active
\u200bStart Soccer Fests program this year in accordance with local public health
\u200bguidelines. Clubs looking to host an Active Start Soccer Fests in 2021 can now
\u200bapply, however, all clubs must ensure that they are following their respective Member
\u200bAssociation’s guidelines for Return-to-Play, as well as all public health
\u200bauthority guidelines.
Canada Soccer’s top
\u200bpriority is to ensure the safety of all those participating, and encourage clubs
\u200bto only host, if and when possible. Early applications will provide Canada
\u200bSoccer with the best opportunity to support clubs in their endeavour to host an
\u200bCircle K Active Start Soccer Fests. This
\u200bsupport will include ensuring that Active Start Soccer Fests adhere to Canada
\u200bSoccer’s Return-to-Play guidelines and meet the required approvals from Member
\u200bAssociations as well as the respective levels of government.
As Canada’s largest
\u200bnational grassroots soccer program, community soccer club administrators, coaches
\u200band volunteers are encouraged to apply online today to host a
\u200bfun-filled event to your community.. With the festival schedule expected to fill-up
\u200bquickly, prospective hosts are encouraged to submit their applications early to
\u200bsecure their desired festival date.

Canada Soccer’s Circle K Active
\u200bStart Soccer Fests have supported community soccer activity for more than two
\u200bdecades and reached over four million Canadians through the delivery of
\u200bfinancial grants, promotional and technical resources to clubs from coast to
\u200bcoast to coast. Since its’ inception, the program has distributed over one
\u200bmillion dollars directly to community clubs across the country.
“The Active Start Soccer Fests program provides a welcoming,
\u200bfun, and developmentally appropriate environment for young players to experience
\u200bthe game of soccer,” said Jason deVos Canada Soccer’s Director of Development.
\u200b“Kids who have free play opportunities to experience the joy of the game are
\u200bthose most likely to develop a lifelong love of the sport.”
In addition to the financial and technical support provided to all festival hosts, the program’s corporate partners enhance the festival events through the provision of giveaways, facilitation of appearances by Canadian National Team athletes in select markets, and the implementation of unique technical programming at select festivals. About Canada Soccer’s Circle K Active Start Soccer Fests
Canada Soccer’s Circle K Active Start Soccer Fests is a grant-based program designed to provide resources to host a soccer celebration in communities across the country.
