The Canadian Soccer Association is pleased to announce the referees and assistant referees who were named to the 2012 National List of Officials. Following their successful completion of education and fitness testing at the annual pre-season camp, ran 8-12 February 2012 in conjunction with the FIFA Member Association Referee Camp in Laval, QC, 38 officials were appointed to the list for 2012.

The five-day course featured instruction from FIFA Instructor Peter Prendergast and FIFA Fitness Instructor Edwin Javier Silva. Canadian Soccer Association President, Dr. Dominic Maestracci, as well as Quebec Soccer Federation President Martial Prud’homme, both attended portions of the event.

Canadian National List Instructors Marie-Julie Allaire and Isaac Raymond also provided instruction during the course, which featured on-field practical sessions, fitness testing and classroom-education sessions.

Of note, 11 of the National List of Officials were also named to the 2012 FIFA List of Officials. The FIFA List features five referees and six assistant referees. Assistant referee Marie-Josée Charbonneau was added to the FIFA List for the first time in her career.

Of the 38 officials named to the 2012 National List of Officials, seven received their National badge for the first time.
